Wayne G. Murphy, Jr. is a 3rd generation firefighter with the Lingohocken Fire Company and has been an active member for 27 years. He follows in the footsteps of his grandfather, great uncle, father, and several uncles in keeping the family commitment to the community and the fire company alive since 1953, and has served as Engineer, President, and Lieutenant, as well as previously serving as Chief of the Newtown Ambulance. Wayne is very active in all aspects of Bucks County Emergency Services, not only as a firefighter, but as a nationally-registered paramedic and instructor at the Bucks County Public Safety Training Center. He holds a BS in Psychology from Philadelphia University and specializes in juvenile arson awareness and intervention. He also studied at the University of Pittsburgh’s renowned Center for Emergency Medicine.During the day, when not on fire calls, Wayne is a stay at home dad, taking care of his daughters Erin, 5 and Serena, 18 months. Fran Gorski is one of our most senior members, having served the Lingohocken Fire Co. since 1959. He has held numerous positions, including Chief of the Company. Fran took his initial officer’s training in 1977, and has had numerous training courses, including Incident Command, Vehicle Rescue, Hazmat Operations, Confined Space Rescue, and Ice/Cold Water Rescue training since. Fran is owner of Gorski Trash Removal, a local business well-known for its dedication to serving the Fire Company and the local community. Top

John Bailey is a life member, having served Lingohocken since 1980. He served the Company at a very young age as Chief Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, and Assistant Chief. In 1990, he was elected as the youngest Chief ever of the Company and held that position for 12 years. John is a PA state certified Medical First Responder. John has training courses in Vehicle Rescue, Farm Rescue, Ice and Cold Water Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, and Trench Rescue and is a Buckingham Township Police Officer. John lives in the Wycombe area with his wife and daughters. Top

Greg Jakubowski has been in the emergency services since 1978. He is a life member of the Bryn Athyn Fire Company in Montgomery County, previously serving there as Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant and Deputy Chief before moving with his wife and 4 daughters to Buckingham Twp. in 2001. Greg is nationally certified as a Firefighter, Fire Officer, and Instructor, is a suppression instructor for the PA State Fire Academy, and a PA state certified Emergency Medical Technician. He spent 5 years in the fire service in Maryland, including appointment as Engineer of the College Park Vol. Fire Dept. Greg holds a BS in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland, and a MS in Public Safety from St. Joseph's University. He is a licensed professional engineer in PA and NJ, is a Certified Safety Professional and works for the Global Safety and Environment group at Merck & Company, Inc. as a fire/safety engineer. Top

Jeff Burns has been a Lingohocken member since 1989 and has served as Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief and Assistant Chief. He started his fire service career in 1977 as a volunteer Junior member with the Newtown Fire Association. In Newtown he served as Secretary, Breathing Apparatus Foreman and Battalion Chief. Jeff holds an Associates of Applied Science degree in Fire Science Technology. He is employed as a State Fire Marshal with the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Emergency Response Unit and is the State Treasurers' representative to the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management. Through his State assignment Jeff served our Country both on the ground at the World Trade Center after the 9/11 attack and on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi in response to Hurricane Katrina. Jeff holds numerous fire fighting, fire inspection, construction code, fire instructor, fire investigation and incident command certifications and licenses. Jeff lives with his daughter in Upper Makefield Township. Top

Dan Gilmartin came to Lingohocken in 2001 from the Flemington Fire Dept. Hook and Ladder Company where he had served for 10 years, including as Engineer and Lieutenant. Dan has completed numerous Officer and Training/Safety Officer courses and was certified as a Fire Official in New Jersey. Since coming to Pennsylvania, Dan has taken additional Vehicle Rescue training, Rapid Intervention Team training, Farm Rescue Training, and Hazardous Materials Operations training, and he is a PA state certified Emergency Medical Technician. Dan and his wife live in Rushland. Top

Dave James has completed numerous fire/rescue training classes, and is a PA state certified Emergency Medical Technician. Dave lives and works in Wrightstown. Top

Chester Pogonowski has been a member of the Lingohocken Fire Company since 1985. He has previously served as Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief, as well as serving as Captain and Battalion Chief of the Bucks County Hazardous Materials Incident Response Team. Chet currently serves as President, and Safety Officer for the Company and is a PA state certified Medical First Responder and Vehicle Rescue Technician. Chet holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, and a B.A. from the State University College at Buffalo. Chet is a QA manager for Rohm and Haas in Bristol, and lives in Wycombe. Top

George Rowe has served Lingohocken since 1960, including time as Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief and currently Safety Officer and spends many mornings/afternoons handling Company business at our Wycombe station. George attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Eduction, and prior to that, served in the Naval Training unit in Virginia and Pennsylvania during WW2. George is retired from a teaching career in Friends education, working at the Abington Friends School, the Quaker School at Horsham, and serving as Headmaster of the Buckingham Friends School. George was the co-recipient of the 2005 Fireman’s Association State of Pennsylvania William Phillips Memorial Fire Safety Educator Award and lives with his wife in Wycombe. Top
