The Lingohocken Fire Company welcomes applicants for membership. If you are interested in joining the Fire Company, contact any firefighter or stop in at the firehouse any Tuesday evening. There is also a Junior Firefighter program for those 14 to 18 years of age. Benefits for active firefighters include: modern fitness/workout room at Wycombe station; life insurance policy; and a retirement benefit program as well as the satisfaction of helping your neighbor by performing something many others can't.
For those who wish to help the Fire Company but are unable to become firefighters, there is an Associate Membership which assists in non-fire-fighting activities such as the Pancake breakfast. Please contact the Fire Company at 215-598-3500 for details.

Scholarships Available for Volunteer Firefighters
Many organizations recognize the service provided by volunteer firefighters and offer scholarships to assist firefighters in their higher education. Lingohocken firefighters are eligible for these programs.
Junior Firefighter Scholarship Program
As part of the National Junior Firefighter Program, ten $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to junior firefighters nationwide who demonstrate commitment and dedication to their local junior firefighter program and the fire service. The departments of each of the winning students will also receive a grant of $5,000. The National Advisory Committee developed the criteria and application process for the competitive scholarships, which will be available by April 1. The deadline for applications is May 15. Stay tuned to the NVFC web site for more information.
Additionally, the leadership and service attributes gained by participating as a emergency services volunteer are likely to receive favorable evaluation in college applications.
